Saraswathi Ranganathan

Saraswathi Ranganathan is an Indian Classical veena performer and cross-cultural musical ambassador. She was born in Mysore and grew up in a musical family. Ranganathan learned veena from her mother Shantha Ranganathan and from Karnataka Kalashree EP Alamelu in
Bengaluru (Bangalore). She has been performing and teaching for over three decades.

Saraswathi won the ‘Best Asian Entertainer’ award at the Chicago Music Awards in 2018. She has led many collaborations and ensembles and has performed at various festivals around the world. Ms. Ranganathan has received a handful of grants to support her efforts of bringing the art of the veena to the mainstage. With a legacy of many firsts in veena, Saraswathi aims to create deeper connection across cultures through her music with the intent of #lessfearlesshatemorelove so we can #liveasonefamily.
